Music Video: Gwen Stefani, Damien Marley, "Now That You Got It"

Pop shared the music video for the Gwen Stefani/Damien Marley collaboration "Now That You Got It," and it's not too bad. Mostly I just like the hyper-bright colors and video game-type backgrounds, since I think the song itself gets to be mind-numbingly repetitive. I like the reggae elements and chill vibe, but I wish Stefani would put a little "oomph" in her vocals.

The clip after the jump is from MTV's "Total Request Live" and doesn't include the video in its entirety, so I'm curious to see what the whole thing is like. To check out Stefani and Marley and their trippy video clip,

Dreamgirls' Anika Noni Rose will star in The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, Anthony Minghella's take on the Alexander McCall Smith books, Zap2it reports.
NBC will be airing the final episodes of "Kidnapped," says the Futon Critic — but you'll have to be really dedicated to catch them at midnight on Sundays.

Recast Results: Dirty Dancing

The original cast of Dirty Dancing made it a beloved classic for many of us, but the lists submitted for last week's Recast challenge were just as impressive! I particularly liked Yiddidea's choice of Christian Bale for Johnny — his Newsies performance is still dear to my heart. And being a Zooey Deschanel fan, I can easily picture her playing Baby's sister Lisa, as suggested by WhiplashGirlchild, LaLa0428, Chancleta, and Yiddidea.

I love that Lslybanks chose recent Oscar-winner Alan Arkin for Dr. Houseman, though I could also see Tom Hanks in the role, thanks to Sheena.

However, my favorite Recast list this week comes from Brazilnut! At first I was torn about casting Gwen Stefani, but then again, who knew Justin Timberlake could act? Plus, at least Gwen can dance. Congrats, Brazilnut! To see her list and the "new" cast photo,

TV Tonight: Gwen Stefani on "American Idol"

It's Gwen Stefani night on "American Idol" — but that doesn't mean we'll be suffering through renditions of "Hollaback Girl" and "Underneath It All" (though the idea of Sanjaya singing "Underneath It All" makes me giggle). Word is that the 10 remaining contestants will be performing songs by artists who have inspired Stefani. Some have speculated that the theme will bring lots of ska and new wave, but given that Stephanie said she would have done a song by Cyndi Lauper, Prince, or Donna Summer if she hadn't been voted off, it sounds like a broad selection.

Also, I hope someone lets LaKisha up front the next time the "Idol" contestants gather in a group. Look at the poor girl straining to see Gwen Stefani in that picture. Everyone else looks delighted; LaKisha looks like she's about to say "Hey, guys, I can't see!" Plus, who knew Sanjaya was so tall?

Remember, "Idol" is running seven minutes long tonight, so set your TiVo accordingly.

Gwen Going on Tour with Lady Sovereign

Gwen Stefani just announced the dates of her Sweet Escape Tour, which kicks of April 22 in San Diego and continues with 40 shows through June. Opening acts include Akon and UK rapper Lady Sovereign, which is funny because I just saw Lady Sov quoted in Rolling Stone saying: "This year [in music] has been rubbish. Apart from me, it's just been sh*t."

I'll admit: I'm not a huge fan of Stefani's new album, The Sweet Escape, either. But as a live act, she totally won me over when I saw her perform "Wind It Up" at the Billboard Music Awards. The woman knows how to put on a show. To see the complete list of tour dates,

Yahoo! Music today is premiering the new Gwen Stefani video for "The Sweet Escape," the latest single off the singer's album of the same name. I like the new-wave vibe and catchy "whoo-hoo! yee-hoo!" refrain of this song, which was produced by Akon. But I guess I'd rather listen to Gwen than watch her, because I'm not crazy about the gold-drenched, Rapunzel-inspired video. Check out out the video premiere and let me know what you think.

There's no denying that winter is upon us, so we might as well just embrace it by introducing the first BuzzSugar weekly Playlist. Every Monday on the site, I'll be posting a themed Playlist complete with my song picks, and you guys can tell me what songs you'd choose for the occasion.

This week, I've rounded up 12 great Snowy Day Songs, many of them by bands from Iceland, Sweden, and other chilly climes. Some have snowy-day themes to warm you up, while others just sound cool and peaceful. Either way, this list will help get you through the long days of winter. (Most tracks are available through the iTunes store.)

CD Review: Gwen Stefani, The Sweet Escape

Gwen Stefani may be channeling Scarface-era Michelle Pfeiffer on the cover of The Sweet Escape (Interscope), but her second solo outing is squarely rooted in eighties pop, with a little bit of Sound of Music thrown in.

While the bizarrely alluring first single, "Wind It Up," has Gwen yodeling and sampling "The Lonely Goatherd," the title track (produced by and featuring Akon) is a veritable kitchen sink of new-wave references, cramming in chimey keyboards, punchy brass, tambourines, and a catchy "whoo-hoo! yee-hoo!" refrain. But the nostalgia doesn't end there. "U Started It" is a well-executed Prince homage, with its sultry vocal melody and synthesized strings, while "Orange County Girl" has Stefani rapping through her life story: "A lot of things have changed but I’m mostly the same / These are a few of my favorite things."

But while the standout tracks on "The Sweet Escape" are undoubtedly unique, most of Stefani's pop/hip-hop hybrids start to sound saccharine after just a few listens. For the rest of my take,
