Buzz Gift Guide: Entertainment Tees For Guys

Welcome back to my Buzz Gift Guide series for all the entertainment lovers in your life. Last week I dug up fun t-shirts for the ladies so today I'm tackling the men's t-shirt department.

I love the idea of buying entertainment-related tees for guys because it not only shows you care, but that you really are listening when they quote, say, Arrested Development all the time. For those buddies I will be giving this t-shirt inspired by the show (and there are tons of other good ones!). I also know many a fellow who will get the joke on this It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia t-shirt (sing it with me: "Dayman! Fighter of the Nightman!"). And, oh my gosh, I think I'd die of laughter if I could get my dad to wear this Entourage t-shirt.

Fox Searchlight Reportedly Picks Up Arrested Development Movie!

If all the "sources" are correct, Arrested Development fans have something to celebrate today: The movie is a go!

Yup, I think I just blue myself.

The Hollywood Reporter is saying today that Mitch Hurwitz and Ron Howard are "reportedly closing deals for the long-gestating project from Imagine and Fox Searchlight."

E! Online's Watch With Kristin is going a step further to confirm that without a doubt, the "Arrested Development movie will happen." However! There is apparently some behind-the-scenes drama already, since "one of the show's original cast members has not signed on to the movie." Kristin continues, "The good news is that aside from this actor (who, sorry, cannot be named), I'm told that all of the other main cast members have committed to be a part of the big-screen project." That utterly sucks about the one "holdout," though maybe he or she will come around? Fingers (and hooks!) crossed!

Now, if you need me I'll be in the hospital bar, wearing my "slut" t-shirt.

Which Arrested Development Character Do You Miss the Most?

In case you didn't hear, we are closer than ever to getting an Arrested Development movie! Jason Bateman recently told E! that they're in talks to resurrect the Bluths' story for the big screen.Despite owning all three seasons of AD on DVD, I have missed the Bluths terribly since the show went off the air almost exactly two years ago. I know there are lots of AD fans lurking out there, so tell me: Which character have you missed the most?Source

Arrested Development Movie: It Really Might Happen

Bluth family reunion! It's been rumored before, but now there's some news that makes the Arrested Development movie seem a bit more likely. What are the odds?

Actually, the odds may be quite good: Jason Bateman told E! that talks are officially in the works to bring the Bluths back together on the big screen. Bateman and Jeffrey Tambor both said they've gotten calls asking if they'd be up for a movie (answer: yes), and other ex-Bluths are reportedly doing the same.

Creator Mitchell Hurwitz doesn't have a script yet, but according to E!, he does have "a good, solid understanding of what he'd like to do for the movie" and a studio (Universal) that would be interested in making it happen. Actually putting the film together would happen sometime after the end of the writers' strike, so there's another reason to plead for a resolution.

Today's holiday gift guide features gift ideas for the boys in your family with whom you had to share a bathroom growing up.

The complete series of Arrested Development on DVD will most likely delight your brother while also providing you guys with something to laugh at together if you find that the holiday togetherness is getting to be a bit much.

I really like the Bourne movies, but the guys I know seem to like them even more. Come December 11, you can give your brother the gift of three movies' worth of Jason Bourne eluding the authorities.

If your brother loves both music and video games, consider getting him Rock Band Special Edition for his PlayStation or XBox360. The game comes with a guitar, microphone, and drums so he and his friends can play along with Metallica, Bon Jovi, and more. This would be especially good for a guy who's living in a college dorm or has enough roommates to form an impromptu band in the living room.

Before it was a movie directed by Sean Penn, Into the Wild was a bestselling book by Jon Krakauer about the free-spirited Christopher McCandless and his dangerous journey into the Alaskan wilderness. Your brother may also be interested in another of Krakauer's well-received books, Into Thin Air.

If your brother is too young to have watched The Goonies in its glory days, it's your responsibility to educate the young lad on all things Truffle Shuffle.

According to Variety, Heathers writer Daniel Waters will reunite with Winona Ryder for the Starz movie Sex and Death 101.
The CBS show "Moonlight" has already recast most of its major roles, and now its executive producer is leaving, writes the Hollywood Reporter.
A track from the Madonna-Justin Timberlake collaboration was leaked online, and then promptly taken down, NME reports.
Val Kilmer will appear on the season premiere of "Numb3rs," and the Futon Critic has the details.
Eddie Izzard has replaced Jeremy Piven in the cast of actors lending their voices to the Igor movie, ComingSoon reports.
Lorelei's dad on "Gilmore Girls," Edward Hermann will guest-star on "Grey's Anatomy" for at least three episodes this season, Zap2it reports.
Warner Bros. has announced that they will release the definitive director's cut from Ridley Scott's sci-fi hit movie Blade Runner on December 18, says Variety.

Big Sale on Fox DVDs at Best Buy!

Need to stock up on past seasons of "The Simpsons" or finally own all of "Arrested Development" on DVD? Now's your chance to do it on the cheap. Best Buy has all of its Fox-produced series on sale for just $19.99 this week — regardless of how much the sets normally cost.

Already, the "X-Files" seventh and ninth season sets have sold out (and it's no wonder, considering that Best Buy typically prices them at $99.9, but there are tons of goodies left. Among them: the complete first season of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," the first five seasons of "The Shield," several "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" sets, and the complete "Wonderfalls."

Seriously, with this sale, it would be cheaper to buy one of the longer series (say, the six-disc first season of "24") than to rent it at Blockbuster. I'm not sure how long the sale is going on, so check it out soon if you're interested.

First Look: Superbad Is Going to Be So Good

Well, I started my week off right by watching the extremely hilarious trailer for Superbad, a summer comedy starring Michael Cera — that's George Michael Bluth, for all you "Arrested Development" fans. The quirky comedy comes out August 17 and looks to be what movies like Orange County were trying to be, but much funnier. I'm a sucker for pretty much anything Cera does or says, but even for those who don't fall down laughing by just looking at him, the movie looks really promising.

Basically, the premise appears to center on two best-best-buddies, Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Cera), who have to figure out how to live without each other when it comes time to go to college. Cera is at his awkward, clueless best, and the other kid doesn't seem half bad either. Seth Rogan (of "Freaks and Geeks" and another promising summer comedy, Knocked Up) co-wrote the script and stars as a hapless police officer. Thanks to Best Week Ever for directing me to the trailer.

Christopher Guest, Mitchell Hurwitz Teaming Up for Pilot

Here's something to snap you out of that post-Oscars funk: "Arrested Development" creator Mitchell Hurwitz and Waiting for Guffman writer/director Christopher Guest are teaming up to make a comedy pilot for ABC.

According to Zap2it, Guest will be directing Hurwitz's adaptation of a British show called "The Thick of It," which — no surprises here — is filmed like a mockumentary.

My inner "Arrested Development" fan is already mourning the show's demise, but I'm going to try to be optimistic for a little while. After all, that other faux-British-documentary-turned-American-sitcom seems to be doing alright for itself, and Guest and Hurwitz rarely disappoint. What do you all think?

"Arrested Development": Free Episodes Online!

Awesome TV news flash: MSN is offering episodes of "Arrested Development" online - for free! Every few weeks, the site will feature episodes from the series, until all three seasons have been shown over the year. The one downfall: There are only three episodes or so at a time, and once the next episodes are posted. the previous ones come down. The upside: You could basically watch a different "Arrested Development" episode per week for an entire year, free of charge.

The site also has other offerings, including downloadable wallpaper calendars like this one, which show the dates when each of the episodes will be released on the site. And, of course, the shows themselves. I just watched the episode in which we're introduced to Tobias' "nevernude" condition, and it thoroughly brightened my Monday.

Another "Charlie Brown Christmas" Tribute

Yesterday, I featured a very funny and thorough parody of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" created by the cast of Scrubs. Now, here's another homage to the classic Christmas cartoon, from the genuises behind the tragically cancelled show, "Arrested Development." This clip is just 20 seconds long versus 10 minutes for the "Scrubs" movie, but for some reason, it makes me laugh just as hard.
