America's Next Top Model Quiz: "Natural Beauty"

Last night's America's Next Top Model was definitely on the "meh" side of things, which is sad because this cycle got off to such a funny, wacky start. Most of the interesting models got kicked off early, leaving a bunch of normal girls who don't appear to be fond of hyperbole. Even Sheena has been oddly subdued. Maybe it's the economy? Oh wait, this was taped a while ago. Sigh.

The only real source of drama last night came from Marjorie's hand-wringing, which is somehow related to how Europeans deal with modeling competitions vs. how Americans approach it. Or something? Basically, she's a nervous wreck, and her glass is half empty most of the time. I feel bad for her and then I want her to buck up and then I feel bad for her again. But I'll save more of my thoughts on that for after I test your Top Model knowledge. You can look at some more pretty pics from the show but first, take my quiz!

Last night was my favorite kind of America's Next Top Model episode! No, not the catwalk challenge, but the one where Nigel "hot accent" Barker is the photographer at the shoot! Did you notice he was in a wetsuit . . . and how good he looked in it?

In a Top Model shocker (not really) two models were actually sent home — one after the catwalk challenge with Ms. J and another after the photo shoot at panel. This was fine by me, because it lent a little bit of drama to an otherwise lackluster evening. Sigh — maybe no episode this season will top the Sheena purse-over-crotch modeling. I did like that Samantha pulled up her skirt and sorta flashed everyone on the catwalk, though. That made things interesting (not to mention the designer furious with her).

America's Next Top Model Quiz: "You’re Beautiful, Now Change"

Sometimes the same-old same-old on America's Next Top Model (like the CoverGirl "put on your own makeup" ~~commercial~~ challenge) can get tedious and boring. But you know what I will never, ever tire of? The makeover episode! This is generally when Tyra and gang take their surreal little skits to new and absurd heights, and at least one or two models have a total crying breakdown.

I have to say, I still don't get the crying. For us regular, non-model folks, a dramatic, asymmetrical, boy-style haircut might be traumatic, but these girls are some of the tallest humans on Earth, with photogenic faces to boot! They're of the "I look fierce even in a potato sack" class. They should know that while their new look might be a little weird, they'll still be hot — and this is an area Tyra knows well. Then again, what they put some of the girls through actually looks painful at times.

Anyway, throughout this episode most of the ladies had great attitudes and even managed to avoid serious drama in the house. An upbeat, grand old time was had by all — including me!

America's Next Top Model Quiz: "The Ladder of Model Success"

Welcome back for another round of my America's Next Top Model quiz! This week's episode was all kinds of hilarious for several reasons (fake boobs! stretchy red tubes! totally inappropriate accessory-modeling poses!), but it was certainly not lacking in drama and awkwardness either. And like any reality show worth its salt, there was a pretty decent hot tub scene complete with a game of truth or dare and the obligatory girl-on-girl kissing session.

The actual photo shoot appeared genuinely difficult, and the final shots ended up looking cool — but that hot air balloon terrified me! Did you see those men struggling to keep it on the ground? Yikes! (Has anyone read Ian McEwan's novel Enduring Love? I think that's why the hot air balloon scene freaked me out.)

America's Next Top Model Quiz: "Top Model Inauguration"

At the start of the last season of America's Next Top Model (er, cycle 10 — ugh, I hate using the word cycle!), I distinctly remember coming away from the premiere episode feeling like those girls were really feisty and ready to snap and make some noise and get up in faces and stuff. In the opening episode alone, there were, like, four shouting matches. So last night's season premiere was interesting, because the vibe was totally different this time around.

And can we say hallelujah for Tyra right now? I never thought I'd say this, but her brand of crazy was actually a really fun, hilarious, welcome escape from all the intense news that I've felt bombarded with this week.

There was something decidedly cheery about last night's episode, and even though it was pretty long, I was totally entertained the entire night. I mean, we had a futuristic "top secret training facility," a "Glaminator 11.0," and a "state-of-the-art runaway" that "processed data." Tyra talked like a robot to root out the initial group, and then we got an honest to goodness photo shoot and Nigel! Love Nigel. Oh, and I'm really glad Jay's hair eventually went back to normal. They probably focus-grouped his first style and learned it scared the children.

TV Tonight: America's Next Top Model, the 11th Cycle!

America's Next Top Model returns tonight for ~~season~~ cycle 11, which is funny, because I don't even feel like Tyra and her band of merry Jays were off my TV for that long. Did you miss them?

Regardless, ANTM is back, and so to prepare myself for the manic energy of this modeling show, I dug up some clips and reacquainted myself with Ms. Banks. And oh my gosh, is she full of craziness still. In the first clip, she's actually chasing a young contestant from Alaska around the judging room pretending to be a moose. The noises she makes are . . . I just . . . wow. You really just have to watch it. Also, be sure to note Jay Manuel's new hairstyle and let me know your initial reaction (did you flinch like I did?).

In the second clip Tyra talks us through her impressions of some of the new faces we'll meet tonight. She describes one model as too pretty and that it's their job on ANTM to give her that "ugly top model pretty and take away that pretty pretty." She also points out that one model has "that ghostly face, like that scary face" and that another has "got a Victoria's Secret runway model look."

It feels like only yesterday we were congratulating Whitney on becoming the first plus-sized winner of America's Next Top Model. But the "cycles" of the Tyra Banks show just keep on going, and today brings our first glimpse of the 14 women who will start vying to be America's next Next Top Model on Sept. 3. The show begins that day with a two-hour premiere, where we'll be introduced to the models of cycle 11. But why wait? Last night's episode had to be one of the blandest of the season. And really I blame it on the fact that there was no Dominique. Sure she wasn't America's Next Top Model, but she added some spice to the mix. Oh, well. On to the final episode. . . As is typical for the last episode of the season, the show felt rushed. The girl's were whisked to a photoshoot/commercial, then immediately to the elimination panel, then the final two were off to their final runway show, and then bam — ANTM.

Yesterday you all were pretty evenly split between Anya and Whitney on who you thought was going to win. And today you seemed pretty happy with the end result. But were you as underwhelmed as I was with the episode as a whole? I mean, nothing beats Chantal tripping the man on the stilts from last season's finale. Alright folks, we're down to the wire. I'm happy with the top three this year, and I think that it's anyone's game (unlike last year which seemed a bit predestined). On the one hand, Whitney has come a long way and could set a record as the first "plus-sized" winner in the history of ANTM, but the judges have sometimes been irked by her disingenuous demeanor. Anya has won a lot of challenges and has been consistent with her photos. She's so darn nice it's hard not to root for her, though that quirky island accent could make things like Cover Girl commercials difficult for her. And then there is Fatima with that gorgeous face, but not only did she miss an entire photo shoot, her moods and flakiness have been all over the map throughout the competition.So who do you think Tyra will crown tonight?Photos courtesy of The CW

America's Next Top Model Quiz: "Ready For My Close-Up"

We're down to three! Woohoo! I have to say, I was very disappointed with the models' shoot with Nigel last night on America's Next Top Model. I felt like Jay said over and over again to each of the girls, "Pretend like this is a motion picture, a moving camera!" And they just stared blankly back with horrid poses.

Oh well, at least they looked stunning — save for poor Dominique, who definitely isn't served by piles of dramatic makeup. She even got in trouble at panel again for her outfit. Tyra's best line of the night was declaring that she, too, has drag tendencies and with too much make-up can end up looking like "Tyrone." Ha!

Also, I know a lot of people dislike Anya and her, um, interesting accent, but I'm starting to appreciate the fact that she's so upbeat and is a genuinely nice person. In the end, last night's episode wasn't very eventful (I thought the challenge was boring) but made better by lots of Nigel. America's Next Top Model Quiz: "We Are Spartans!"

I was going to post a picture collage of the official shoot from last night's episode of America's Next Top Model but come on: How amazing are the models dressed up as Xena-style gladiator types? Especially Whitney, who is looking particularly voluptuous — which is an uncomfortable reminder that her "plus size" looks normal and pretty to me, yet in this world is considered larger than average. Sigh. Yes, I know, sample sizes and . . . stuff.

Anyway, the girls continued on their adventures through Rome complete with gladiator training (which will surely come in handy down the road in their modeling careers). We were treated to a couple of fun Dominique diva rants to the camera, and a few snide Fatima remarks about how bad the other girls are, but without explosive Lauren in the mix everything is mostly kind of dull. Remember how much 'tude and fierceness Jaslene brought to the table that practically fueled that entire "cycle" to its end? I fear this "cycle" is missing that kind of personality oomph at this point.

However, not to fear! Because where there is an obnoxious personality vacuum, you can bet Tyra will be there to fill it. America's Next Top Model Quiz: "Viva Italia!"

For all of Tyra's over-the-top gimmicks (and exaggerated facial expressions), I rarely find America's Next Top Model funny in an "Ouch! My stomach hurts from laughing!" kind of way — but last night was an exception. Not that anyone meant to be funny, but those girls shooting their Cover Girl commercials in Rome, and in Italian, was downright hysterical. And don't even get me started on how much I laughed once we saw the judges' reactions to the commercials! Dominique's shoot in particular was so "awesomely sexy drag queen," and with her facial expression that conveyed utter befuddlement by the Italian words, you have pure comic gold.

And then there was Lauren. Holy . . . wow. Her shoot was bad. I knew that walking and talking at the same time for her would be difficult (much less in a different language) but this was as big an ANTM train wreckage as I've ever seen. But as bad as Lauren was, the judges are definitely starting to grow tired of Whitney the pageant queen. America's Next Top Model Quiz: "For Those About To Walk, We Salute You"

Wednesday's episode of America's Next Top Model proved that if you can emerge from this competition with your sanity and self-esteem intact, you deserve more than a few oddly placed Cover Girl commercials. You deserve a medal of honor.

The girls endured one of the meanest Tyra pranks to date when she dangled a beautiful private jet in front of them and then quickly yanked it away, maniacally informing them that they were in fact flying commercial to their secret international location (no doubt crammed into the back of the plane near the bathrooms). I know that's what making good reality TV is all about, but there are suspense-building gimmicks and then there are Tyra's little games, which I can't help but think are more for her entertainment then ours.

The most drama of the evening, though, centered around Fatima stressing out about her travel papers, as she is not a U.S. citizen and knew ANTM would be taking off for some exotic locale any minute. Her appointment to get her papers conflicted with the photo shoot and she literally had nothing to show come panel. Mr. Jay seemed to feel strongly that this was something she should have taken care of earlier and it was highly irresponsible of her to wait. What do you think? I'm completely jealous of the international destination, and this week's challenge looked fun as well. Plus, was it just me or were the photo shoot outfits totally gorgeous and enviable for once? Last night's episode of America's Next Top Model was a recap episode sprinkled with never-before-seen moments from the first part of this cycle. Yeah, it was a little bit of a snoozer, but they probably knew they were up against a potential TV behemoth and chose to save the next scary Lauren meltdown for when they're sure ANTM fans will be tuned in.

America's Next Top Model Quiz: "If You Can’t Make It Here, You Can’t Make It Anywhere"

Last night on America's Next Top Model the girls had to make like Fuerza Bruta performers and pose by smooshing their bodies onto a giant piece of plastic soaked with water. The results were, like Whitney's shot pictured here, very "artsy" (or, as Ms. J somewhat more bluntly described it, a "full-figured fetus"). Lovely!

But before the ladies got to rolling around in puddles, they were tasked with the go-see challenge! The girls were split into two teams and met with designers from Shoshana Lonstein Gruss, Pamela Roland, and Alice + Olivia. This time, there weren't any disastrous situations like getting really lost or being super late. I felt bad for Whitney when Pamela Roland awkwardly told her that she was too big for their clothes, but later the same designer claimed Fatima was too small. How does anyone win in this business?! I'm telling you, hats off to these girls, because after one day of that kind of scrutiny I might curl into a ball and cry. Or eat a lot of chocolate.

America's Next Top Model Quiz: "House of Pain"

First of all: Hello, Claire and Lauren's deep-seated anger! The two girls in the house I thought would remain low-key and relatively drama-free through this season of America's Next Top Model revealed themselves to be short-tempered this week. I did feel for poor Dominique, who seemed a bit ganged up on by those two and Whitney, and for the life of me, I can't figure out what she did to really get them angry like that aside from her alarm clock issues.

Unfortunately, two-thirds of the show was spent on that nonsense when we could have devoted more time to watching the best thing ever: naked photo shoot with Nigel! The lucky girl who struck the best "pain" pose during a tutorial-as-challenge session with Tyra won a one-on-one photo shoot shot by that dreamy hunk of an Englishman himself. Other than that, the photo shoots were pretty straightforward, with each girl dressed as a different musical genre (if I were a country music fan, I'd be most offended by Claire's outfit). Also, I'm sorry to report that the Tyra mail ticker group-reading sequences I know drive a lot of you nuts aren't going anywhere.

America's Next Top Model Quiz: "Top Model Takes It to the Streets"

Thank goodness they left that terrible beef photo shoot nonsense behind this week and moved on to more relevant modeling lessons: posing. I feel like I'm learning so much this season thanks to the return of America's Next Top Model regulars like Benny Ninja and his band of merry drag queen posers.

This week the girls' photo shoot was really tame. Mr. Jay's team shot close-ups while someone dribbled paint down their faces. It was one of the most uneventful shoots ever aside from some sulking from Marvita. Surely Tyra can again find the middle ground between cold beef and boring? I want to see bodies harnessed and dangling over buildings or something! Instead, most of the high drama last night came from a shouting match in the loft between Whitney and Dominique (who is as committed as ever to speaking in the third person).

America's Next Top Model Quiz: "Where’s the Beef?"

Last week on America's Next Top Model, Allison's "tude" was her demise, so you'd think with one controversial girl out of the loft, there'd be more love and less hate this time around. Not the case on Wednesday's episode, as yet another shouting match broke out in the house, this time about nakedness in the shower. That's a slight improvement over last week's fight over butt size, I have to say.

This was also the week Ms. J. got down to business with the walking. Every year I think, "Huh, they need this much help walking?" and each year a bunch of models prove that yes, yes they do. I admit, it does not look easy to find that balance between strutting and skipping (ahem, Amis). Then again, the models seemed to have an easier time walking than, you know, dressing themselves.

But all of that was fun and games compared to the nastiness that was their photo shoot challenge. The models were shot in a meat hanger, each girl wrapped in sides of beef and, in some cases, even wearing — as Whitney put it — "meat panties." It looked really gross and also gave way to way too many meat puns and references. Tyra: "In this industry they treat models like a side of beef!" Yuk, yuk.

America's Next Top Model Quiz: "Top Model Makeovers"

Now this is the America's Next Top Model I've come to know and love: challenges, makeovers, and phrases like "hella juiced" (courtesy of Marvita). Last night's episode also introduced us to something new and pretty amazing: Tyra Vision, a little TV set graphic that bubbled up in the hair salon (a la Pop-Up Video) with Tyra inside of it telling us her secret makeover plans for each girl. Also, two girls actually reenacted a scene in which butt size was called into question with what I was able to identify as ANTM dolls thanks to Popwatch.

In last week's episode, the girls' first photo shoot was pretty tame. Tyra's people piled a ton of clothes on the models and asked them to convey sadness through their eyes. Yawn. However, last night was the true test of the models' skills: posing outside in the cold, atop a boat, in their skivvies. Those skivvies were designed by none other than Elle Macpherson who was on set and seemed like a genuinely nice person. S and B, the Winchester Boys, and Tyra are Back for the CW

Fans of Gossip Girl, rejoice! There's another season of frenemy-making, backstabbing, and rabble-rousing from S, B, and the rest of the Upper East Siders coming our way.

Gossip Girl is one of six series that the CW renewed today. The others: the Thursday night lineup of Smallville and Supernatural, the comedy Everybody Hates Chris, the drama One Tree Hill, and America's Next Top Model — for not one but two more cycles. All six of the shows will return this Fall, according to the CW — which I assume ends the speculation that Gossip Girl could start its second season over the summer.

In the meantime, Gossip Girl will move to Mondays when it returns April 21 with the first of five new episodes. One Tree Hill will also have more new episodes in April, and Everybody Hates Chris returned to the air with new episodes last night. Smallville has more new episodes this month and in April, while Supernatural will return April 14. And, of course, the latest cycle of ANTM has only just begun.

America's Next Top Model Quiz: "New York City, Here We Come"

America's Next Top Model is back for real! On Wednesday's episode, the gang returned to New York, where the girls who survived Tyra's model prep moved into their swanky loft. Right off the bat we learned that the girl Tyra ordered to rename herself last episode chose "Amis," which is pronounced "Ay-miss." That didn't strike me as the fiercest of names for an aspiring top model but renaming oneself is probably easier said than done.

Last night's episode was jam-packed with model activities, including a Times Square runway show with Ms. J and Mr. Jay as well as some "honest" feedback on the way they look from new judge Paulina Porizkova. The girls dressed up as homeless people for their photo shoot, but the drama really hit its high point when not one, but two girls were sent home! America's Next Top Model Rundown: Episode 1, "Welcome To Top Model Prep"

So, wow. America's Next Top Model has never been accused of being dull, but Tyra and the gang are clearly not resting on their laurels, as they've gathered one of the most — oh, let's call it "spunky" — groups of girls ever this year. If Wednesday's premiere of the 10th cycle of ANTM is any indication, we are in for a season of extremes. For every impassioned sideways-snapping girl, there is an awkward "I just discovered high heels today" young lady to balance it all out.

These girls haven't even dealt with sharing one phone line while sleep-deprived yet, and already we were treated to a roller coaster of emotions, including some spirited debate over what counts as ghetto, verbal sparring that nearly turned physical, and a large group hug resulting from a strangely timed discussion of female genital mutilation. Meet the Ladies of America's Next Top Model Cycle 10

America's Next Top Model will return next month with a whole new set of catwalk hopefuls and the usual boatload of Tyra antics. Today, the CW is giving us our first glimpse of the 14 aspiring models who will strut onto our TV screens come Feb. 20. Is it bad that at this point, when I see these photos, I immediately start imagining what the girls will look like after makeover week?

This season, Paulina Porizkova is replacing Twiggy on the judging panel, and I can't wait to see what she adds to the show. One week to go before the last episode of America's Next Top Model and you know what that means: we're one week away from crowning ANTM. While the previous winners might not be supermodels just yet, Fab's got the scoop on what some of the girls are up to.

As for last night's episode, the final four girls travel from Shanghai to somewhere else in China for yet another challenge and photo shoot. As the competition nears its conclusion, the girls start to let their true colors shine. Namely, Jenah becomes homesick and Saleisha chooses competition over friendship.

Last night's America's Next Top Model was fun (yay!) because the "Go-See" episodes are always full of delightfully idiotic hijinks, but weird (boo) because it felt extra fake. There are often obviously dubbed parts added in later, but last night something about the whole thing seemed fishy. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but, for example, part of me doesn't really believe that Heather only made it to one go-see. At least Nigel was there — heeee's hot. America's Next Top Model got its Project Runway on last night when the girls were asked to inspire and model dresses created for them by student designers. And, like on Project Runway, some of the models loved the garments and some were less than thrilled. I kept waiting to hear Tim Gunn yell "make it work." Without that, the best part of this segment was when each girl was asked to reveal a little bit about herself to the designer and Lisa said, "Actually, I love to draw and I like to show my legs." Um, okay.

From there, the girls were whisked away to a desert for a fiery hot photoshoot. I kept waiting for one of the models to literally catch on fire. But the real heat came at deliberation when Trya revealed that the final six would be headed to a country Tyra herself has never visited. Do you remember where the girls are headed? Maybe I just feel that way because I was only half paying attention while I waited for the actual photoshoot to come and then all of a sudden they were at panel and I was all — what happened? What are they even being judged on? That random music video shoot? Also, the whole Heather collapse was totally glossed over. Anyway, enough about that. Let's get down to the quotes of the night. America's Next Top Model Rundown: Episode 5, "The Girl Who Is Afraid Of Heights"

After last week's thrilling makeover episode, this week's America's Next Top Model was actually a bit of a bore. Is it just me, or are they devoting less and less time to the girls interpersonal drama? Maybe these aspiring models just aren't as boozy as some of the older seasons meaning fewer late night antics. So without further ado, here's what went down last night:

Benny Ninja was in full effect last night taking the girls for a trampoline lesson on how to pose while moving before their challenge. The girls were then brought to an ice skating rink and told to convey emotions while being lifted over the ice by an Olympic figure skater. Good times. Overseeing the event was Cycle 7 winner, Dani, who has certainly followed through on those speech lessons. All the girls seemed totally awkward with the challenge, most of all Heather, who kind of froze up whenever the guy tried to lift her. Lisa won, making all the other girls, most especially Ambreal, upset. There were tears, but that is to be expected.

For the actual photoshoot, the girls were brought to the roof of a hotel in downtown LA, where they would be posing (nowhere near the edge, mind you) as "fashion gargoyles." I kid you not. Ambreal was having a bit of a fit, being scared of heights and all, but...wait for it...she overcame her fear. Also, did I mention they didn't seem to be anywhere near the edge? Too bad for her it didn't' do much for her photos. Ebony continued to have no personality, but look great on film while Heather stuck with her tried and true profile shot. Out of nowhere, I think Chantal might have been my favorite and Jenna wasn't so bad herself. Way to go, blondes!

"America's Next Top Model" Rundown: Episode 4, "The Girl Who Goes Bald"

Makeover day is when "America's Next Top Model" really gets rolling and last night was hopefully the turning point for this kind of blah season so far. Nothing much happened between the girls this episode, which is possibly for the best since it meant zero of Bianca picking fights with the other girls. That being said, she was still the center of what little drama there was. Here's my take on what went down:

The makeovers were, across the board, good this time (meaning, no DISASTERS like Brittany last season). I especially loved Chantal and...Bianca's. I know that Ken Paves gave her an extra special wig after they had to shave off her hair, but she looked stunning with that buzzed head! I've never been a fan of her on the show, but I definitely see her potential now that the pink hair is gone. I actually kinda hate Saleisha's new look, but I suppose that's why I'm not Tyra.

For the first challenge the producers had to work in their partnership with CoverGirl. I mean, uh, the girls had to show off their make-up skills. It was pretty pointless, but Sarah won. Yay, Sarah. Sarah is good. As for the real photoshoot, the newly madeover models had to each act like different species of plants. Believe it or not, the resulting pictures are pretty awesome.

"America's Next Top Model" Rundown: "The Girl Who Went Rock Climbing"

"ANTM" is getting pretty lazy with their episode titles, eh? This week, wait for it, the photoshoot was on a rock climbing wall! Yeah, they're also running out of ideas for photoshoots...and other competitions. Speaking of which, this episode was all about walking in difficult situations (isn't it always?) and started out with Miss Jay having the girls walk in straight jackets. Perhaps I'm overly sensitive, but the whole thing made me a bit uncomfortable.

As for the competition, the models had to walk in a faux-runway show for Colleen Quen's fancy and difficult-to-maneuver-in gowns, the prize being a chance to walk in Quen's Paris Fashion Week show. Roy Cambell acted as the most awkward runway announcer ev-er for the show. Kinda hilarious. Saleisha won, despite Bianca's many attempts to cut her down including calling her "borderline plus sized." Ugh. Bianca may bring the entertainment factor, but I'm quickly getting tired of her shenanigans.

"America's Next Top Model" Rundown: "The Models Go Green"

On this week's "America's Next Top Model" we learned that this cycle, the show is going green...ish. Well, at least they'll be tooling around LA in a car running on biodiesel, the house is full of plants/recycled materials and the girls will be forced to take short, timed showers. To conserve water! Oh...and they're not allowed to smoke cigarettes...? Talk about one version of hell: living in a house of aspiring models who are forced to quit smoking. Well, that's one way to up the ratings with testy catfights!

This week the girls had to pretend to be super excited about a shopping spree at Old Navy (and put together a totally personalized outfit from the store's fabulous staples!) in addition to getting down to business with their photoshoot. The ridiculously preachy and heavy-handed theme of the shoot was the effects of smoking cigarettes. Seriously. The girls had to pose two ways: glamorous smoking and, in the mirror, ghastly from the side effects. Did you get the message? Smoking is BAD FOR YOU.

"America's Next Top Model" Recap: "The Girls Go Cruisin'"

Pretty much all the suspense of last night's season premiere of "America's Next Top Model" was gone with one look at this picture from the CW that revealed which of the first 33 contestants would make the final 13. But no matter — there was enough pure crazy in the first episode to make it worth watching. I mean, one girl gave Tyra a simulated bikini wax right there on the judges' table, leading Tyra to exclaim that "any girl who gives me a simulated kitty-cat wax is fine with me." I can only imagine what precedent this will set for future cycles.

Anyway. The episode started with the 33 hopefuls boarding a cruise ship in Puerto Rico, where Tyra surprised the girls by making her first appearance in a feather-adorned getup for a little cabaret number, surrounded by gay sailors. (My boyfriend's comment: "The kangaroo costume was better.") Then came a boatload (...get it?) of whining, cattiness, backbiting and posturing between the girls as they prepared for their auditions in front of Tyra and the Jays. TV Tonight: Welcome Back, TV!

Finally! At long last, it's starting to get hard to decide what to watch on TV. While many shows don't start till next week, three networks have new shows premiering tonight, and most of them are worth a look:

Fox has the premiere of its new comedy "Back to You" and Gordan Ramsay's "Kitchen Nightmares," with a new episode of "'Til Death" sandwiched in bewteen.
CBS has the much-ballyhooed premiere of "Kid Nation"
The CW kicks off the new season of "America's Next Top Model," then follows it up with the first episode of "Gossip Girl."

Throw in a special on ABC about the character of Addison and the live finale of "Last Comic Standing" on NBC, and it's quite the night for the major networks. TV Casting Roundup: "Top Model," "24," "Lost"

Meet the hopefuls for the ninth cycle of "America's Next Top Model." This time around, we've got a whole bunch of students, an aesthetician, and a dancer.
Rebeca Mader and Lance Reddick have joined the cast of "Lost." The Hollywood Reporter says the details of their characters are being kept under wraps — but I wonder if it could be these two folks?
"24"'s female president now has a First Husband: Colm Feore is joining the show. Rumor has it there will also be First Kiddos for Feore's character to corral, according to TV Guide. Rhys Coiro of "Entourage" is also signing on to work alongside Janeane Garofalo's character.
Emily Rose, most recently of "John from Cincinnati," will be a very busy actress this TV season, landing roles on both "Brothers & Sisters" and "Jericho." On "B&S," Rose will play a friend of Rebecca's who gets a job with the Walker family.
