The seventh season of Dancing With the Stars — America's answer to
Strictly Come Dancing — airs on UKTV Gold this evening (having started in the States on Monday) and stars Lance Bass, Toni Braxton and Kim Kardashian in the line up of
13 contestants. Your
favourite SCD judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli will have a very busy few months as they travel between the UK and the US, and are joined by Carrie Ann Inaba Stateside. I enjoyed
the last series of the show and will be tuning in tonight to get a feel for the new contestants: will you be watching too?

Could it be?! Oh, that it be true! Dan Quayle, former veep under George Bush I, is
rumored to be in talks to join the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars.

One of the things I like most about
Dancing With the Stars is that it's not quite as humiliating as certain other celebrity (or, "celebrity") competition shows. It has a big audience, for one thing, and in general, it's a light-hearted, good-humored kind of show, as opposed to being slightly sad and uncomfortable to watch.
Also, the show gets some pretty funny people to participate, and I'm always impressed with the celebs that are game for learning these dances and dressing in hilarious outfits.

Between
Katie Holmes,
Katherine Heigl, and that
hilarious Scrubs panel, ABC's session at the
TCA press tour has already been action-packed. And it's only getting nuttier today, when Shonda Rhimes, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, and the ladies of
Desperate Housewives take the stage. Before we get to that, here are some great stories I didn't get to share on Wednesday:
- One of the reasons I'm looking forward to the Private Practice panel: The show is apparently going to go through something of an overhaul.
