For someone who tells catwalk hopefuls to "smile with their eyes," Tyra Banks looks a little like a
wax figure of herself at Fashion Rocks. As I'm sure you're all aware of the unfortunate hair situation going on here, let's look beyond that for a moment, and appreciate her glossy, cherry lips and well-applied false lashes. As a whole, she might have overdone things, but that's not really a surprise.

Tyra Banks granted us the pleasure of appearing on the red carpet at Fashion Rocks in a dark red jersey wrap dress cinched in with a bold brown belt. Her gold layered necklaces and tie-up sandals lends some major sexy and that
big hair helps, too. What do you think?

At the start of the last season of
America's Next Top Model (er, cycle 10 — ugh, I hate using the word cycle!), I distinctly remember coming away from the premiere episode feeling like those girls were really feisty and ready to snap and make some noise and get up in faces and stuff. In the opening episode alone, there were, like, four shouting matches. So last night's season premiere was interesting, because the vibe was totally different this time around.
America's Next Top Model returns tonight for season cycle 11, which is funny, because I don't even feel like Tyra and her band of merry Jays were off my TV for that long. Did you miss them.
Regardless, ANTM is back, and so to prepare myself for the manic energy of this modeling show, I dug up some clips and reacquainted myself with Ms.

It feels like only yesterday we were
congratulating Whitney on becoming the first plus-sized winner of
America's Next Top Model. But the "cycles" of the Tyra Banks show just keep on going, and today brings our first glimpse of the 14 women who will start vying to be America's next Next Top Model on Sept. 3.

Ah, the crimper — what a magical little heating device. Every now and then, we see a resurgence of the style, and
Tyra's not the only one to try to bring it back. She sported this style at a taping of her show, where she celebrated
Vogue Italia's first all-black model issue.
"Bazaar" Is Right. Tyra Plays Michelle Obama in Mag — Why? Tyra Banks has a penchant for playing dress-up (see: episode where she wore a fat suit), but in the September issue of Harper's Bazaar, she's slipping into a power suit to portray Michelle Obama in a fashion spread. While the dress-up stand-in seems odd, the mag has ventured into the politics of mimicry before, featuring fashion models posed next to cardboard cutouts of the candidates.

Given the sometimes questionable authenticity surrounding a campaign, this seems to make sense on a deeper level (candidates = cardboard), but what does the Tyra stunt mean.

By now you've
heard the hype and
seen the covers of Vogue Italia's all black July issue. Now, step inside the magazine to experience some of the powerful editorials shot by Steven Meisel. Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, Liya Kebede, Jourdan Dunn, Chanel Iman (left), and Sessilee Lopez are all a part of this groundbreaking movement, each bringing to the table their own unique presence.

Ellen DeGeneres, Rachael Ray, and Jeanne Cooper were among the big winners at the
Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday night. DeGeneres took home the award for Outstanding Talk Show Host for the fourth year in a row — but her show, which had won the Outstanding Talk Show prize in each of the last four years, was upset by Rachael Ray in that category.
Meanwhile, Cooper won her first Emmy at age 79 for playing Katherine Chancellor on The Young and the Restless.
