A few months ago I was lucky enough to meet up with the very lovely and funny Rainn Wilson for a Q+A session about his new movie
The Rocker (out today in the UK). In the movie he stars as Robert "Fish" Fishman, a talented drummer in a hair metal band that gets kicked out by his bandmates before they go on to rock glory. He then gets a second chance at success when his nephew's rock band are looking for a new drummer, and here's what he had to say when we spoke earlier this year:
- So, Rainn, how good are you at drumming really?

I'm all about movies and DVDs this month, as a range of American and British goodies are released. On the big screen I'm looking forward to a comedy and a guilty pleasure, and when it comes to a night in with a good DVD I've got lots to choose from, whether I'm looking for a thriller, a comedy or a big budget film. To find out what I'm excited about, just hit "Start".

This week's

Rainn Wilson is featured in the September issue of
Paste magazine, talking about a whole load of his "firsts" in his own amusing style. I met up with him a little while ago, before the release date for his upcoming movie
The Rocker was pushed back to October, so you'll be able to read my interview with the lovely, funny actor in a few weeks. But for now, here's some excerpts from his magazine interview:
- On the first band he really loved:
“I think I was about 14 or 15 when "Another One Bites the Dust" came out.

Ben Stiller's
Tropic Thunder won the top spot at the box office for the
second weekend in a row, earning an estimated $16.1 million. This makes Tropic Thunder,
Iron Man, and
The Dark Knight the only movies to have stayed at No. 1 for two consecutive weeks this Summer (so that's two major box office winners for Robert Downey Jr.!).

Welcome to the
Caption It game on BuzzSugar! Every other Wednesday, I'll post a photo still from a TV show or movie here and challenge you to think of the most hilarious caption possible. I'll announce the finalists the following Tuesday, and you'll get to vote for the best caption; the winner will get a fabulous BuzzSugar t-shirt!

There is this undeniable, crazy-intense talent that I think Rainn Wilson has yet to unleash on us, that goes beyond his hilarious and iconic portrayal of Dwight Schrute on
The Office. Thanks to smaller roles that he's had, including his creepy character on
Six Feet Under, I've had faith that Wilson is not a one-note actor, and that he possesses the tools to take part in a variety of genres. So, I was looking forward to his first time out as a comedic lead in
The Rocker.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to spend a little time with the lovely Rainn Wilson, who I adore in his usual dorky character as Dwight Schrute in
The Office: An American Workplace as well as his fun small part in
Juno. He's over here to promote his new movie comedy
The Rocker (out in October) – I'll let you know what we talked about in a few weeks – but in the meantime check out the trailer and tell me what you think!

While many of you were reveling in BBQs and sunshine over
Memorial Day weekend, I ventured north for the
2008 Sasquatch Music Festival and it was so much fun! Soon I'll share with you my general take on the bands I got to watch perform and interview. However, before I could even get to the music my first day on the scene, I noticed an airplane circling round overhead with a banner promoting the film
The Rocker and then suddenly I was surrounded by teenagers sporting bandanas with the movie's logo.

Finally! I have been looking forward to seeing a trailer for
The Rocker for what feels like forever, especially when we get trailers for things that
aren't even coming out until December and The Rocker is opening August 1.
Billed as "a comedy for the rocker in all of us," The Rocker stars Rainn Wilson and an assortment of comedic actors, like Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad (
21) and
Superbad's Emma Stone as a group of kids (and one of their uncles) who aim to rock out as the prom band.
