You know it as yet another Judd Apatow-esque bros-before-ho's comedy, but with the right music and editing, Superbad is a really good action film, albeit with the dorkiest-looking protagonists ever to star in that genre. (I'd love to see it branch out into horror, chick-flick, and sci-fi genres. Maybe even a ninja flick.

I said it back in May, and it's still true as the year winds down: Judd Apatow is everywhere. The man whom the Los Angeles Times named "the mayor of comedy" had two of the Summer movie season's biggest hits, signed on for several more highly anticipated projects, had a New York Times Magazine cover story all about him, and generally became a household name — not bad for a self-described schlub in an unglamorous polo shirt. This month I've been polling you guys on everything from who you think the best breakout TV star is to which on-screen movie romance you think was the best of 2007. Now lets see which actors, movies, albums, and TV shows earned the top honors. Drumroll please . 
All of the new DVD releases hit stores (and Netflix) on Tuesdays. So each week in What to Netflix: New DVD Tuesday, I sort through the best of the batch and tell you what to add to your queue. In addition to the following movie picks, the sixth season of 24 is now on DVD if you wish to relive that particular experience.
The Jodie Foster/Terrence Howard thriller The Brave One reached the No. 1 spot at the box office over a relatively slow weekend, bringing in approximately $14 million. Variety reports that the main audience for the film was older women, and that its continued success will depend on whether men will be drawn to see it as well.
I wasn't the only moviegoer wowed by the remake of the Western 3:10 to Yuma this weekend as the movie took the No. 1 spot at the box office. According to Variety, the film "appealed primarily to men over 25" but, um, I'm pretty sure there was plenty there for the ladies to enjoy as well. 
This holiday weekend, Rob Zombie's reimagined remake of horror classic Halloween took the box office crown, bringing in $31 million in sales over its three-day opening.
Superbad continues to do impressively well — this weekend the bawdy flick came in second place, just before ping-pong comedy Balls of Fury. The Bourne Ultimatum continued to be successful, coming in fourth place, while Rush Hour 3 followed behind at No. 
Teen raunch comedy Superbad continued to get tons of McLovin from audiences this weekend as it reigned at the box office for the second weekend in a row. Overall, this weekend's box office sales were somewhat unusual, with older movies taking the top three slots before the new releases. The Bourne Ultimatum came in second place — a nice accomplishment in the movie's third weekend in theaters — while Rush Hour 3 stayed strong at No.
