Michael Cera's new movie Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist premieres at the
London Film Festival on Wednesday, before its wider release in cinemas in January 2009.
Paste magazine recently caught up with Michael to talk about the movie, and here's some extracts from
their interview:
- On if it's a conscious decision to take larger roles: No, it’s just whatever comes around. It’s just like a gut [feeling].

If the photo below were a
Caption It contest based on this weekend's box office results, my entry would go something like: "Well Leo, there's no easy way to say this so I'm just going to come out with it. We got beat by the little talking dogs. Beat bad."

Over the weekend, I decided to take advantage of the damp weather with a trip to the movies to see
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. I liked it and applauded it for doing something most teen comedies these days don't do: let teenagers have imperfections and real insecurities. In the story, it's revealed that Norah is unable to have an orgasm.

You know,
the reviews for Disney's
Beverly Hills Chihuahua were not as bad as I thought they might be, so that coupled with the fact that it's a family film meant that the movie about little talking dogs took the No. 1 spot at the box office over the weekend. The top dogs brought in a seriously impressive $29 million.

Michael Cera and Kat Dennings, who play the title characters in
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, posed together last night for the red carpet premiere of their movie. They looked sweet giggling for the cameras with their director and a few costars, and apparently these two
aren't afraid to poke fun at each other now and then. We're excited to see Michael step it up and take on a romantic comedy, and after reading
Buzz's review, we have a feeling many of you will want to see it this weekend, too.

I'm trying to separate the experience of watching the movie
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist from the experience of
reading the book. In truth, the two bear only a few similarities and I enjoyed the book more than the movie. Still, as a standalone piece of entertainment, the movie version is fun and silly and adorable, mostly due to the great cast.
Kat Dennings and Michael Cera looked like quite the adorable (fictional) couple on the red carpet last night, as they premiered their new movie
Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist in Los Angeles.
The trailer has definitely made me want to check this movie out, and
the majority of you agreed you'd see it. When asked if she thought Michael was cute, Kat told Michael to his face,
saying:
"Of course.
