Molly Ringwald not only had
dancing skills, the girl was the teen queen of the '80s. While crushing over Jake Ryan (so hot) in
Sixteen Candles, being the not-so-popular girl in
Pretty In Pink, or playing prom queen in
The Breakfast Club, Molly ruled in her leather bombers, scrunched boots, frilly tops, and blazers. It's time to take your
back to cool style, well, back in time!

ABC Family's
The Secret Life of the American Teenager has a clunky title and a premise disconcertingly close to that of
Juno. But it also has Molly Ringwald, and for that alone, I want to check the show out when it premieres July 1.
The show is, at face value, the story of Amy (Shailene Woodley, aka the first Kaitlin Cooper of The OC), a band geek who finds herself unexpectedly pregnant.
FABTV is taking a new direction this week — let's not forget about important fashion/music/dance moments in film. It's these hybrids that sometimes make cinematic history. Flashdance anyone?

Every Wednesday on BuzzSugar, I post a
Recast challenge, where I ask you to choose new actors for a classic TV show or movie. The reader who submits the best cast wins a BuzzSugar t-shirt!
Well, we've recast
The Breakfast Club and
Pretty in Pink, so now it's time for the third of my favorite John Hughes movies:
Sixteen Candles.

Many of the
recast lists this week featured actors who seem way too old to play the high school kids in
Pretty in Pink. Yet when I took a look at how old the original cast was, most of them had been out of high school (and college) for years already; James Spader, for instance, was 26. Thus, I went with a recast list full of actors who at least look like they could be in high school...

If you're looking to relive the '80s this weekend, why not take a stab at my latest
Recast challenge: that irresistible rich/poor teen dramedy,
Pretty in Pink?
Even today, this Molly Ringwald movie really holds up, thanks to a killer soundtrack, curious wardrobe choices, and great performances. If you were recasting it today, which actors would be ideal?

Recast challenge, where I'll ask you to choose new actors for a classic TV show or movie. This week, I thought I'd take a break from all the
cinema classics and
beloved sitcoms we've been recasting lately and go back to the '80s with that irresistible rich/poor teen dramedy,
Pretty in Pink.

For last Wednesday's
Recast challenge, I asked you guys to choose a whole new cast for the John Hughes classic,
The Breakfast Club. This was by far the most wildly popular Recast challenge yet, and there were so many good ideas. I particularly loved
PinkRabbit's pick for Frankie Muniz to play the geek role originated by Anthony Michael Hall, and I was pleasantly surprised by
Honeysugar28 choosing Scarlett Johansson for the Molly Ringwald part.
