Alicia Silverstone looked mesmerized as Matt Damon took the stage to rally for Obama at VoteFest '08 in Miami Beach yesterday. Matt, Alicia, and Kerry Washington are touring multiple South Florida cities to promote early voting in the swing state. Matt said, "I took time off from acting until the end of the year to be with my family and enjoy our new daughter.

Mandy Moore, Katherine Heigl, and Alicia Silverstone came out last night to support designer Peter Alexander at the grand opening and benefit of his flagship boutique in LA. Katherine took her adorable puppy Romeo out for the evening, and joked about how her husband won't let her adopt any more pets. Mandy was dateless for the night, but that doesn't mean she's single — apparently she and DJ AM are back together after his accident and were spotted getting cozy at a luncheon.

If there's one movie I'm anticipating the most at the moment it's Tropic Thunder, and the male stars were out in force for last night's LA premiere. The movie promises Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr, Steve Coogan and a career-reviving cameo from Tom Cruise – so, basically, I'm in. There were some great manly bonding moments at the premiere, with Tobey Maguire and Robert greeting each other, Robert nuzzling Ben's shoulder, Jack getting close to Nigel Lythgoe(?!) and The Office co-stars Ed Helms and John Krasinski showed up on a Bromantic date. 
Two of my favourite Freaks And Geeks – James Franco and Seth Rogen – premiered their new movie Pineapple Express in the US yesterday. Just in case my title confused you, Pineapple Express is not a train, in the movie it refers to a rare new strain of weed that the stoner and his dealer (Rogen and Franco) drop when they witness a murder – unfortunately it's so rare it can easily be traced back to them, so they go on the run.
I can't wait to see this movie, and neither could the whole host of stars that showed up to the LA premiere including Jim Carrey, Kanye West, Daniel Craig, Emma Stone, Alicia Silverstone and many more.

Alicia Silverstone raised some suspicion that she was the mother after being courted by How I Met Your Mother earlier this year — but then there was that whole Britney Spears dustup, and Sarah Chalke stepped in instead. Now, it turns out Silverstone will be playing a mom — just not, you know, that one — in a new ABC comedy pilot.
Silverstone has been cast in the lead in Bad Mother's Handbook.

Looks like the SAG awards weren't the only star-studded event that took place last night — some of our favorites decided to head to the Lakers game instead. Kanye West and Nicky Hilton were a couple of stars who hung out courtside, but our personal favorite pairing was Shia LaBeouf and Ashton Kutcher. The boys looked pretty cute chatting it up together despite a few fashion missteps (Shia's too skinny jeans and Ashton's chest hair, ew).

The amazing opportunities include tickets and backstage passes to Joan Jett (plus a personalized and signed electric guitar), a surfing lesson with Daniela Sea (The L Word), and a vegan lunch in Los Angeles with Alicia Silverstone. Currently drawing the highest bid is the visit to the set of Californication and a meet-and-greet with star David Duchovny. 
Last night in Hollywood, Condé Nast brought together music and screen to celebrate at the first ever Movies Rock event. The red carpet was all about drama from Beyonce's green number which looked like she would waddle rather than strut in to Fergie's sexy lingerie-esque dress. Jennifer Lopez positively glowed (and is sooo big!) while Marc posed with his hand on her belly — protective already of their little one.
