I saw a commercial for Vicky Cristina Barcelona while I was on the treadmill this morning and thought the male actor was Robert Downing Jr. I couldn't hear the dialogue but it looks funny-romantic.

And my inner-teen is excited about Violet in Private.

I'm also anxious to see Brideshead Revisited. Anyone seen that yet?

"What I talk about when I talk about running" sounds a little bit too much like Raymond Carver's "What we Talk about when Talk about love" I don't know if it's intentional, but either way, I don't like it. Carver is sacred!

em113 — I was just reading something on this very topic this morning. Can't remember where I saw it, but apparently Murakami is a huge Carver admirer and the translator of a lot of his work into Japanese, so it may be an intentional (and well-intended) homage.

Okay, I figured it must be a homage because even if Murakama wasn't a fan, I'm sure someone at his publishing house would've noticed the similarity of the two titles. I guess I will have to read his book before I make judgements on whether or not I think the title is appropriate. Carver is just so great that I think a book needs to extroadinary to pull off a homage. If that makes any sense...

Breaking Dawn = CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

I'm leaving for a London-Barcelona-Majorca holiday this evening, so I won't get to see Vicky Christina Barcelona until after my return But at least it'll be fun to pick out the places we got to see in RL!
