Bones Series Finale: Where Every Character Winds Up

It's time to leave the Jeffersonian for good, folks. Bones ended on Tuesday after an astounding 12 seasons, and we were forced to say goodbye to the characters we've come to know and love over the years. The finale was action-packed; Bones is diagnosed with agnosia (the two sides of her brain can't communicate with each other, rendering her unable to understand complex problems) after the explosion, and the team has to piece together one last mystery. Longtime fans are treated to tons of callbacks as each character reflects with memorabilia from old episodes, and Bones brings up several major moments from the series. When all is said and done, here's where the major characters end up.

Aubrey
Fox

Aubrey

Rather than moving across the country to Los Angeles, Aubrey chooses to stay in Washington DC. While he's still bummed that Jessica broke up with him, it's implied that he has a future with Karen Delfs.

Arastoo and Cam
Fox

Arastoo and Cam

You know how Cam is going to take a leave of absence? It's because she and Arastoo are adopting three brothers from foster care. They're taking time off to dedicate to setting up their family, but Cam assured the team she'll be back soon.

Hodgins and Angela
Fox

Hodgins and Angela

Though there is initial concern that the explosion may have affected their baby, doctors assure Angela that she is perfectly OK. More good news: Cam gives Hodgins a temporary promotion by putting him in charge while she's gone. As he puts it, he's the "king" of the castle.

Bones and Booth
Fox

Bones and Booth

The adorable couple closes out the show by talking about their friends (including Sweets, RIP) and family while looking at the Jeffersonian. They waltz away together, onward toward their happily ever after.
