Pete Davidson Reveals He Was a "F*cking Idiot" When He First Met Ariana Grande

For Ariana Grande, she knew she'd marry Pete Davidson the moment she met him. For Pete, it was quite the opposite. In fact, he was so shocked at how much he screwed up that he said to his friend, "What a f*cking idiot I am." During an interview with Howard Stern on Monday, the 24-year-old comedian opened up about meeting his fiancée for the first time back on the set of Saturday Night Live and how they eventually got together two years later. "Timing is everything," Pete said about how he and Ariana started dating. "We were both in a similar situation at the same time." The host then referenced how Pete was in a serious relationship with Cazzie David and Ariana was in a serious relationship with Mac Miller, both of which ended "pretty much at the same time."

But the biggest question of all remains: how did they go from laughing acquaintances to having their own real love story? "Scooter Braun, booking my career and wife," Pete said jokingly. "I was down in the dumps and he came to visit me at SNL." We're assuming one thing led to another and Ariana and Pete were brought back into each other's lives by Ariana's manager.

When speaking about those dark times in his life, Howard asked about his struggle with borderline personality disorder and if it impacts relationships. "Everything feels so extreme, dude. Like it's the most extreme or the least extreme," Pete said, adding that he used to worry that he was "too much to handle" in a relationship until he met Ariana. "I just think some people are meant to be together and some people aren't, even if they are good people or not, some people just aren't good in relationships together. I just think we're supposed to be together."
