How upsetting.

Yay for Atonement and Sweeney Todd - my two favorites!

I second that snapsh0t! I think those were the two best choices and I'm really glad they both won!

I'm also really happy about Atonement's original score win. And I love No Country's screenplay win- it was the best adapted screenplay this year and I'm sure that Juno will take home the original screenplay Oscar.

after watching sweeney todd last night i must say i am very happy that it won in two huge categories. this only restores my faith in the amazingly talented johnny depp. his portrayal was convincing, as i was truly immersed into the movie and believed every moment of it. his tortured soul really came across and the ending... was extremely moving.

Buzz, I second the thanks for the speedy post. This is great. So happy for Jon Hamm and Mad Men; he is wonderful as is the show. Happy, too,for Glenn Close and Marion Cotillard. I just watched La Vie En Rose last night and was amazed by her stunning performance.

I can't believe Atonement and Sweeney Todd beat No Country and Juno.

I think all the awards were pretty much fair. Although I don't understand why people like Johnny Depp so much and I don't like any of his movies, that was to be expected. I'm happy Atonement won for Best Dramatic Picture, but I thought that Saoirse Ronan should've won for Best Supporting Actress, she did a beautiful job! And Steve Carell should've won for Best Actor in Comedy, he really deserves it. But I'm sure the two of them will be receiving more accolades soon enough!

Johnny Depp is my favs but i have a little dissappointment when Cate didn't win The best actress !

I only got 5 or 6 right on my ballot. I was so happy though to hear about Johnny Depp and Sweeney Todd winning! I think Angelina Jolie deserves to win for A Mighty Heart, but I think the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and the Academy favor older actors over younger ones. I really need to see Atonement...

Yay! Mad Men is the best, and it was a total underdog win! I hope this calls more attention to this EXCELLENT show and people start watching it.

Yes! David Duchovny won! I thought and hoped he would...

I wish Juno and Steve Carrell won. Juno was amazing and well, how can you beat the office?

There was definitely a lot of surprises but I do think they were all worthy winners....I'm very surprised "4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days" didn't win best foreign language film

I've yet to see a majority of the winners on this list.

I really really really really wish my local theater would show Atonement, Juno, and Sweeney Todd here!

I was waiting Juno too.. Well the Oscars are still on the way.
Luckily Sweeney Todd and Atonement took the big ones.

I'm glad Juno didn't win. It was so overrated imo.

No Dexter though, that's sad.

The bad:
I think Hairspray could have won the best comedy/musical and Persepolis should have won the best foreign movie!! The hype surrounding "The Diving bell and the butterfly" is tiring, in France it was neverending, and I hate Matthieu Almaric(main actor)!! The Coen Brothers should have won best directing.
Im not so sure about Johnny Depp, no matter how much I love the guy, I can admit now that I'm tired of seeing him nominated/winning all the time(stupid, I know LOL!)
Michael C Hall has been robbed, he should have won best TV drama actor for Dexter, without a doubt!!

The good:
Marion Cotillard deserved the award, she was incredible in La Môme(the French title ). Javier Bardem, and Cate Blanchett were obvious choices too.
Atonement was a good choice as best drama, could have won more awards though...
Dario Marianelli composed a fantastic vintage soundtrack for Atonement, worth the award for sure.

that sucks , i can't believe Juno didn't win something

Marion Cotillard is amazing in 'La Vie En Rose'. She deserved that win. I'm also impressed with 'Mad Men' and think they probably deserved to win there as well. 'Ratatouille' was also right. And Cate Blanchett probably deserved her win too.

I haven't seen any of the nominated movies, but 'Atonement' was the only one I really wanted to see. So good.

I am very surprised that the mediocre Sweeney Todd won. Johnny Depp was a lock for his category though. I won't expect him to even be nominated for the Oscars.

I am just happy that Atonement won in the Original Score category. That was 110% deserved!

I am soooo effing happy! The 2 people I wanted to win... the Piv and David Duchovny won! Awww wish I wish it was televised.

I am so upset that "The Kite Runner" did not win for best foreign film!

Since I haven't seen everything, I can't comment on what won over what, but I'm happy with Tina Fey and the Extra's win!

I'm glad Tina Fey won, but the other TV winners were upsetting.

That is great that Mad Men won. I really like the show, but I didn't think that many people would have seen it!

I'm totally happy about Sweeney Todd. I'm all about Tim Burton movies & I love, love, love Johnny Depp!

No Michael C Hall? No Jennifer Carpenter? No Dexter? Golden globe sucks!
