I just saw Superbad recently and I was disappointed... I prefered Knocked Up. Zodiac was awesome. And I missed Waitress.

zodiac is brilliant, i'm suprised it's not getting any attention during award seasons. i mean the set design alone made you feel like you were living in the 70s. and the tapping of hands on the typewriters at the newspaper headquarter, i can still hear it.

I think Zodiac came out too early in the year and everyone forgot about it. It was an awesome, awesome movie.

My prediction is that it will be nominated for an Oscar in the editing category.

I thought Zodiac was excruciatingly slow and dragged big time. I agree, pinkflats, the set design was fantastic and it was very beautifully shot, but it could have stood to be far shorter.

Hmmm, I didn't like Knocked Up that much - It was funny but more of an afterthought funny (like, 'wait did something funny just happen, oh yeah it did' then you laugh). I'm not sure if it's because of all the hype around it or the fact I don't really like Katherine Heigl. That's why I'm not going to see Superbad until the hype has completely died down, just in case.

whiplash i agree it came out too early. i hate how really good films get buried during award seasons because some "harvey weinstein-like" guys/girls are spending tons of money so their films get oscar hype. okay i know this is completely off-topic.

and phasekitty, i agree that it was a slowwww film but i love it too much to mention anything negative about it. lol.

I, too, am a Zodiac fan. Whip, I hope your prediction for it being an Oscar contender--in any category--comes true. Just watched Waitress this weekend and thought it was brilliant. Buzz, I agree that all the "nominees" in this "best of" category were wonderful.

it's great to hear that many here in sugar loved Zodiac. well i have to say we all have good tastes when it comes to films.

Loved Waitress, but I had to write in Once. One of the best movies, ever, let alone this year. If you haven't seen it, please do. And you'll want to buy the soundtrack, too.

im buying and watching it with my family on Christams Eve!! totally excited its the best movie ever ever ever ever! well maybe not EVER but its freaking funny stuff!

I rented Superbad this past weekend and have seen it over and over. I just love such juvenile movies! I also rented Waitress, but it was just sort of blah for me. Not boring, not cute, not fun, not anything really. Just a movie. The only moving thing about it was the behind-the-scenes event of the director/writer/actor Adrienne Shelley's death. The memorial was heartbreaking.

I am very pleased that Zodiac won. I too am so dissapointed that it's been virtually ignored by viewers and awards It deserves much better than it's getting.

I liked Superbad, but I thought Knocked Up and Hairspray were better. I love Waitress too.

Zodiac had me captivated throughout and for a longer movie to do that, is unusual. It was a great movie.

Wow, Zodiac was that good? We passed it over because my sister-in-law said it was slow and boring. Now I'm going to have to give it a shot!
