Score one for the Gilmores!
Lauren Graham of the late, lamented "Gilmore Girls" has just signed a seven-figure development deal with NBC.

What does that mean?
It means that NBC will be creating a new series with Graham as the lead, and the network is currently on the hunt for writers to work with her. Variety called the deal "one of the year's richest TV talent pacts."

Why so much money?
According to Variety, Graham had been in demand in Hollywood ever since the cancellation of "Gilmore Girls," largely because she could headline either a comedy or a drama. From a fan's perspective, I have to agree with that; she moves so easily between laugh-out-loud humor and quiet, tender moments.

Did I mention she's funny?
Here's one of her quotes following the deal: "Also, after having spent so many years representing the frog on the WB, I am especially comforted to be part of the only other network with an animal mascot."

OMG! The end of Gilmore Girls felt like hearing your cat died! I'm so jazzed Lauren is back. I hope they giver her some dangerously witty and hysterical dialog in her new role.

This makes me so happy! Lauren has the whole package--she's only gotten more beautiful as Gilmore Girls went on, and she comes off as incredibly witty. She can deliver lines better than so many others on television and I'm so glad that she's coming back!!

I really liked her because she seemed fun and down-to-earth, until last year when my best friend was an extra on Evan Almighty, and she overheard LG commenting about how all the extras were "such maggots." Ew!

Why don't they cast her in that Matthew Perry show that has been bandied about? That would be PERFECT!

YAY, YAY, YAY, YAY, YAY! I am sooo excited about this! Lauren is so talented. I have to say, I was heart broken when they canceled Gilmore Girls! It was the only show I actually sat down to watch. It will be nice to tune into Lauren again, in a new capacity! Can't wait!
