I read The Mist by Stephen King and it freaked me out. Can't wait to see it...looks great

I knew it! I've seen the Japanese version (original) of One Missed Call and I knew it was a matter of time before Hollywood got their hands on it and did their own version.

And I've read the short story, The Mist.

So, onto the videos.

The Mist looks scarier but they both look good. I do think the ringtone in the original OMC is creepier. Although the American version is a variation on that ringtone.

I saw the preview of the mist the other day at the movies... looks realllll cheesy. I am sure the book is much better.

One Missed Call looks scarier to me, but The Mist looks a little philosophical, like the people are the real monsters as they turn on each other, so it looks like the better quality movie. I however will be seeing neither. I don't like to be scared, real life is scary enough.

The Japanese OMC was a joke.

I LOVE The Mist by Stephen King and am really looking forward to it. One Missed Call seems ok ... but how could a future self call their past self with dates and times of their deaths?? Cuz if they're alive enough to call ... they obviously hadn't died yet??

Jap movies are always scarier..remember the first Grudge?

I remember reading The Mist at home during the day and getting so freaked out I had to shut the book and go outside into the sunshine.

I think the Mist does... the phone call one reminds me of Final Destination type movies.

neither looks particulary scary to me....omc seems esp. cheesy to me, though....that ringtone! how can you be scared by that?

I'll take Stephen King over a Japanese remake any day. Oh no! My cell phone's ringing! Run!

Neither looks that scary. I watched the trailer for 'The Strangers' and that freaked me out a little bit.

I picked one missed call because the stephen king one, while I am sure will be good reminds me of a few of his others in a way

I don't think either one of these looks that great or original. Disappointing for Stephen King, another story about mysterious creatures and kooky Christians. OMC looks a bit more promising but I agree with the person who said it smacks of Final Destination.

The OMC preview gave me chills, but I REALLY hate stuff that jumps out at you. I'd probably just read the Stephen King one, his ideas just don't translate as well to movies as they should. He's an awesome writer, but his movies always end up so cheesy!
