Will Lohan's Behavior Hurt Her Career?

Despite Lindsay Lohan's DUI/coke bust and trip to rehab, she's still employed — at least for now. Shirley MacLaine and Rob Hickman, the producers of Poor Things, told People they aren't going to kick her off the project. In a joint statement, they said:

"We are trying to rearrange the shooting schedule to facilitate her working at the end of the shoot to coincide with the completion of her rehabilitation. We wish her love and the blending of mind, body and spirit."

But Lohan's grace period appears to be running out, according to several sources in a New York Times story. Some studios and producers are reportedly removing Lohan from their casting lists, staying away from the actress until she proves she's reliable, responsible and capable of working — not to mention sober.

I can't say I'm surprised. If I were a director, I don't think I'd take a chance on Lohan right now. Besides the risk of her being physically unable to work, some of you are saying you won't see a movie with her in it. And she's one of the few stars whose offscreen behavior affects how I see her work.

That's a shame, because I think Lohan has talent. Her performance was one of the bright spots in Georgia Rule, and you'll never catch me saying a bad word about Mean Girls. But she's already been replaced in two movies recently, once by Sienna Miller and again by Bryce Dallas Howard, though it's not clear if either of those situations had anything to do with her wild behavior. Whatever the reason, though, I do wish she'd stay out of the spotlight for a while and get her life together so she — and we — can stop being distracted by her antics.

I think for now her antics will hurt her career yes. She has publicly chastized by producers and co-workers for her lack of work ethic. she is in the tabloids and internet gossip sites pretty much every day for her wild behavior, for which she seems totally unapologetic. Her "mother" (and I use that term loosely) claims that her daughter just wants to have fun. Well Cyndi Lauper lyrics aside, if fun requires being that constantly drunk and high, it isn't fun. It's a problem.

If she can get her act together, stay sober, stay out of the tabloids, and start making better life choices (be it having a better work ethic, her choice in friends and lovers, etc) than she might be able to pull out of the downward spiral and make something of her career. But I do agree right now that she appears to be too much of a risk to a prospective employer, be it a movie studio or a McDonald's branch.

What career? I think at this point she's effectively killed it. She's untrustworthy as an employee and has already been publicly criticized by a directory, even before the latest drama.

I do think she has the potential and talent to become a great actress (but she must please stop putting out albums) but I think for the time being there must be consequences to her irresponsibility. If that means she loses out on jobs, let it be. She should have to prove her reliability like anyone else at any type of job. If she wants to work, she better prove that she deserves it, by being responsibile and sober.

I think people have to make mistake.......after mistake after mistake to finally have things start to go right for them. I am looking forward to I Know Who Killed Me ...despite her rehab visits and whatnot.

But as for people hiring her right away...just look at Kate Moss...it took her a while to get brands to take her back as their spokesmodel.

Her only career right now is to get into the tabloids as much as possible, but it could also have a Kate Moss-esque ending where she ends up getting a lot of endorsement deals, but I think everyone is fed up with Lindsay Lohan. And maybe when she stops getting all the attention that she wants, then maybe, she'll finally realize what kind of slump she's turning her life into ....

I think that Kate Moss had a better chance of bouncing back on her career than Lohan because I think she already had established a career and a woman who can influence the fashion world. Moss also has friends who are important in the fashion world like Niomi. Lastly Moss isn't everywhere in the news, for example she isn't trying to act or come out with an album. There really isn't an overkill on her exposure.
As for Lohan, she hasn't make her mark in the film industry (Mean girls doesn't count) and does not have friends in high positions that could help her get a great role to bounce back on. Also she's doing so many things at the moment: movies, albums, rehab stints, endorsements, partying etc., which is too much the reasonable viewer can stomach.
So to say that Lohan career might have a Moss-like comeback is just not right.

Lindsay has talent and potential, but of now she has potential to be a B movie actress if she doesn't get her sh*t together.

Look at the times we are living in... she'll only gain more notoriety. "There's no such thing as bad publicity"
