Reese Makes Time for Midnight

Just as I was saying it looked like Reese Witherspoon was moving on to darker fare, she's been tapped for another comedy. According to Variety, Reese will be starring in a remake of the 1939 comedy Midnight.

My favorite part of the news? The remake is being written by Little Miss Sunshine writer (and Oscar winner) Michael Arndt, whose idea it was to bring Midnight back to the screen. Here's how Variety describes the film:

In the original, Claudette Colbert starred as a destitute young woman in Paris who becomes a pawn when a wealthy man tries to get rid of the gigolo wooing his wife.

Arndt told Variety that the film is one of his favorite movies and getting to update it with Reese is "simply a dream come true." Type A, Reese's production company, will produce the film for Universal Pictures.

Yay! I adore Reese and I'm so glad that she's going to be in another movie. I think she's an amazing actress.

I'm tired of Reese. She's one of the worst actresses working today. Can't believe she won an Oscar. Ridiculous.

Little Miss Sunshine was fantastic, so I'm looking forward to what he does with the Midnight script.

I can't wait to see Reese on the big screen again. It's been too long since her last.
