"Gilmore Girls" Creator is Mulling a Movie

The "Gilmore Girls" won't be gone for long if series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has her way. When TV Guide's Michael Ausiello tracked her down at Fox's Upfronts party last week, she told him she was hoping to write a two-hour TV movie to tie up all the loose ends from the show's finale.

Of course, that would be contingent on the cast coming back for the project — and given that the show was canceled because stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel didn't sign contracts to return, I doubt that's a sure thing. Still, when Ausiello checked in with the major stars, they at least seemed intrigued, if not completely sold. Bledel said she'd have to read the script and see how she felt at the time, while Scott Patterson said he'd consider it if Sherman-Palladino is serious and Graham said she'd do it just to learn the mythical four words that were supposed to end the series.

So, what do you think? Did "Gilmore Girls" wrap up well enough for you, or are you still curious to see where the characters might end up?

Not to be outdone, by the way, "Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas said he might take a stab at a "Mars"-related feature film, though with all the rumors that have swirled around that show recently, I'm not sure I believe anything anymore.

I think that would be great to see! As long as its written well, which I have no doubt.

If only they could do the same for Veronica Mars!!

OMG! That would be a dream come true. Some think ASP went the wrong way with season 5, thus making season 6 suck because the new writers had to make up for it. Not so. ASP has ALWAYS said that she knew how it would end. It's her baby, her creation and I'd love to see how it really goes out. I'm so sad they are gone. I'm left to my DVD's which I watch EVERY day. Really.

I would love to see the series wrap up from ASP's point of view. I was so sad to see her go at the end of season 6. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

I'm all for a GG film. Especially after the disappointing series finale. She's right, there were a lot loose ends at the end. So this would be great!

omg!! are u joking! wow, this could be soo gooood... but only if it was amy and her husband doing the writing... i was even thinking i wish they would do this, but that it would probably never work... but if sherman-palladino were the writers... i bet they could make it good and not cheesy!

Hmm, it'd be interesting I'm sure. I'd like a more tied-up ending for sure. I'd love it if they did something more closed with Logan, I think they either ended it badly or they had intended him to come back if the show had continued.

I was a fan of the Gilmore Girls for years and the final episode disappointed me - there was no resolution. A movie to really tie it up would be great!

Yes! A filme! I hated how it ended! It was a season ending, not a show ending! I mean, Rory didn't stay with her boyfriend (whose name I can't remember right now)?? Seriously? Politics? And so many other little things that could have been so diferent, and better done! I mean they were at it for 7 years, would 13 more episodes kill them?
    Logan, that's it!

I would love to see a movie of this show made. I remember when there was talk of the "4 words to end the show" and then they never came about. It would be fun to watch.

PLEASE MAKE THE MOVIE!!! To the actors, do the movie because you love your fans and we loved your show, get paid and give everyone some closure. We probably won't drop it until you do. This way WE ALL can move on. Haha. Come on, pretty please?? Smiling

PS...this is the PERFECT opportunity to bring it back now that the elections are over and Rory's no longer on the campaign trail following Barack Obama. I mean, that would work perfect in the script! "Barack Obama was definitely elected because of Rory's great writing about him." (or something like that, we'll let Miss Palladino stick to the writing =])
