Some music news today: No Doubt is planning to regroup for an album and a tour. In an IM conversation on their site, guitarist Tom Dumont wrote "I have cabin fever. Maybe we should play some shows or something," to which Gwen Stefani responded, "I think we should go out now. I don't think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again."
This sounds great to me, as I used to have No Doubt in constant rotation on my stereo way back when. I've liked some of Gwen Stefani's solo stuff, but not as much as songs like "Just a Girl."
Whose music do you like better: Stefani on her own or No Doubt?

They always said that they would get back together.

I honestly love No Doubt and Gwen Stefani equally, Gwen Stefani is just an incredible artist in my opinion no matter what she does. It's not so much that her voice is amazing...but I love how relatable and poignant most of her songs are yet she also knows how to create a good dance track.
Obviously Tragic Kingdom was an amazing album, but Return to Saturn was critically panned and Rock Steady got mixed reviews (although I love songs from each of those albums), so I think No Doubt is a little overhyped in retrospect. Gwen Stefani's first solo album was really great, I loved every track except the one with Andre 3000. The Sweet Escape wasn't as good, but it was still very decent in my opinion.
