Which Do You Prefer: No Doubt or Gwen Stefani's Solo Stuff?

Some music news today: No Doubt is planning to regroup for an album and a tour. In an IM conversation on their site, guitarist Tom Dumont wrote "I have cabin fever. Maybe we should play some shows or something," to which Gwen Stefani responded, "I think we should go out now. I don't think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again."

This sounds great to me, as I used to have No Doubt in constant rotation on my stereo way back when. I've liked some of Gwen Stefani's solo stuff, but not as much as songs like "Just a Girl."

Whose music do you like better: Stefani on her own or No Doubt?

I honestly love No Doubt and Gwen Stefani equally, Gwen Stefani is just an incredible artist in my opinion no matter what she does. It's not so much that her voice is amazing...but I love how relatable and poignant most of her songs are yet she also knows how to create a good dance track.

Obviously Tragic Kingdom was an amazing album, but Return to Saturn was critically panned and Rock Steady got mixed reviews (although I love songs from each of those albums), so I think No Doubt is a little overhyped in retrospect. Gwen Stefani's first solo album was really great, I loved every track except the one with Andre 3000. The Sweet Escape wasn't as good, but it was still very decent in my opinion.

I definitely like both. No Doubt is more "fun" music, but Gwen Stefani has done some great stuff on her own.

Just to reiterate, I like both equally but I think people exaggerate how great No Doubt was and they feel "betrayed" that Gwen Stefani went on to do solo albums. I really don't think it's a big deal Puzzled They always said that they would get back together.

I love No Doubt, and Gwen's solo music is pretty great too. Tragic Kingdom is one of my all time favourite discs.

No Doubt is one of my all time favorite bands and I've listened to them since the early 90s but I also appreciate Gwen's solo work.

i actually like both pretty equally. they aren't the same sound - so it's really a good mix of alterna-rock and then the pop type stuff that she does on her own.

No Doubt was so much better. I never heard a full solo CD from here until like a month ago and it SUCKED. I spent half the time thinking wtf? I was never a big fan of her solo work released on the radio but hearing them altogether was a little bit like torture.

She's done some interesting stuff - though its not really my type of music, given a choice I would say No Doubt.

I like Gwen's solo stuff but No Doubt will always hold a big spot in my heart. They were my choice of music in the 90's and were my first concert. I loved Gwen in her ska/chola phase. I can't wait to see them again

Gwen Solo is probably the worst thing I have ever heard. No Doubt is completely amazing though... i have their first 3 albums on vinyl, they sound so gorgeous.

I love both No Doubt and Gwen's solo work, but she was a lot more serious about her music with No Doubt.
The solo works seemed focused on conjuring up hits, No Doubt was more interested in credibility.

I love both! Gwen is an amazing artist. But deep down, I'd say No Doubt, I love how versatile there are! "Hey baby hey baby hey..."

Yeah, I kinda lost respect for her when she switched from amazing alternative rock to rapping/pop/spelling out words...
