Will You Watch the Series Version of The Starter Wife?

USA's The Starter Wife returns to TV tonight, this time as a full-fledged series instead of the fun, if fluffy, miniseries that aired back in '07.

Debra Messing is back as Molly Kagan, striking out on her own and trying to decide whether she can really become a writer now that she's free from the clutches of her ex-husband (now played by David Alan Basche, since Peter Jacobson is otherwise occupied). Also returning are Molly's two best friends, Joan (Judy Davis, who won an Emmy for her role) and Rodney (Chris Diamantopoulos), along with a cast of new supporting characters.

The Friday night time slot is tough, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that The Starter Wife can be a special weekend treat on my DVR. What about you? Will you be watching?

i can't wait to see this show - and i'm really upset that i forgot to set my DVR for it, but i just sent a note home to see if someone could tape it for me. i can't wait to see what they will do for the show now that it's past the story in the book.

MrDPember - I only saw bits and parts of the miniseries, but I believe Stephen Moyer played the homeless guy she got involved with.

Nita & MrDPember — that's right. Moyer played the homeless guy (Sam, I think) whom Molly decided to date in the end. I'm assuming that didn't go so well!

I'll definitely be watching. Loved the miniseries, can't wait for the show. Debra Messing is great on her own, but she really shines in a good ensemble -- and this definitely is one. Huge Judy Davis fan, and Chris Diamantapoulos was adorable in the miniseries. I'll be at my TV at 9:00 on the dot tonight.

I caught a marathon of the mini series and really enjoyed it. Debra is always funny and really fits on a tv comedy. So, I'll be DVRing it tonight and watching it sometime this weekend. Don't think the hubby wants to watch a chick show on date night Sticking out tongue.

I saw bits and pieces of the mini-series, but it was just OKAY. I might watch or I might not, who knows...

Isn't it weird that I find Stephen Moyer MUCH more attractive as Bill on True Blood than Sam on The Starter Wife? He just doesn't look good as a blonde.
