The Other End of the Line Trailer: Cute or Cheesy?

Opening in limited release on Oct. 31, The Other End of the Line tells of the romance between an Indian woman working at a call center (Priya) and a young man named Granger who lives in the US. When Priya calls Granger to verify some charges on his credit card, the two get to talking and hit it off. Priya lies and tells him she lives in San Francisco, so when he travels to San Francisco to meet her, she hops on a plane from India to keep up the charade — but without her family's approval.

Some aspects of the trailer are nauseatingly lame and cheesy, but at the same time, the main actress is beautiful and endearing, and the cross-cultural tale of love is appealing. What do you think?

This sounds way too cheesy for me.

Admittedly, I did get into a pretty long pen-pal platonic relationship with a guy I met over the phone while working in technical support before. That was totally beyond the rules though. Eye-wink

It looks good (especially the tax part), but they should have re-cast Jess Metcalfe.

This is beyond awful for me! They practically told us the whole story in the trailer anyway! Pass.

I'm Indian, so I'll totally see it, but I wish the guy was Brian Hallisay (Will from Privileged) instead of Jesse Metcalfe. And let's be real. She could never get a visa that fast.

I'll probably rent it eventually, but I wish they cast someone else instead of Jesse Metcalfe. That Indian girl is beautiful though (sorry I don't know her name). I like the story and I love that it's set in San Francisco, but it seems to tell the whole story just in the trailer.

I agree that Jesse Metcalfe should be recast. Eh, I'd probably watch it at some pirate movie website if I'm bored.
