I was sort of starting to hate "The OC" by the time it went off the air, but it did leave me hoping that Adam Brody gets more work. He's probably not the world's most versatile actor, but I find his laissez-faire hipster demeanor hard to resist.

So, I'm curious about In the Land of Women, the first feature from writer and director Jon Kasdan, whose brother Jake also has a new movie, The TV Set. On paper, the premise sounds a bit Garden State: After getting dumped by a movie star, Carter Webb (Brody) decides to move to Michigan care for his grandma (Olympia Dukakis). As he straddles that vexing line between mature adult and immature 20-something, he's charmed by two women across the street, including a sassy mom (Meg Ryan) and her teenage daughter, Lucy (relative newcomer Kristen Stewart). The movie looks to have some potential, but it's tough to tell from the trailer. Watch it and tell me what you think when you read more

Ya gotta love Adam!

This movie was filmed in the city that I lived in, Victoria B.C. like a year or so ago, I remember the big hype all the little girls were making that Adam Brody was in town and staying at the Marriott. It's cool finally seeing the preview for this movie, and it's cool recognizing pretty much most of the scenes in the movie!
