What's Your Favorite OC-Related Piece of Entertainment?

Bravo just can't get itself out of Orange County. The network that's already brought us The Real Housewives of Orange County — and its countless spinoffs — is preparing a new series about "hip and stylish" 18- to 25-year-olds in the OC. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Bravo wants folks who are independent yet still have "an 'involved' relationship with their parents." Cast members could be "attending college, finding their first apartment, starting a new business, still living at home, moving in with a significant other, or recently married or 'living an alternative lifestyle.'" (You know the producers are rooting for some alternative lifestyles.)

No offense to the actual Orange County, but mining the wealth of the OC for entertainment purposes just strikes me as very 2003. Still, some good stuff has come out of there, so I'm wondering: what do you think is the greatest show or movie to come out of Orange County?

Probably "The OC" but it just saddens me that after all these shows that have come out of my hometown (and still living in, btw) all of them have focused on the rich/glitzy side which I know sells, but it would still be nice to put a limelight on the what the other 80% non-wealthy community.

Ugh. I don't particularly care for any of them. I guess I'll choose The OC(don't call it that) because I have heard that the first season is pretty good. Then again, if it wasn't for The OC(DCIT) maybe none of those other shows would exist...

I just love those vapid, drunken, tasteless, siliconed/botoxed/restalyned housewives. I feel like Alberta Einstein everytime I watch that show. And, since none of them have any redeeming qualities, I don't feel a little bit bad about it like I used to when watching Anna Nicole. I loved that Anna. But the RHOOC were placed on this earth to be objects of my derision and snark. Nothing more. Thank you Bravo! Thank you OC!

I picked Laguna Beach ... only because The OC got worse and worse as the show progressed.

Wow, supertramp's comment just reminded me of when I was about thirteen and on New Years Eve I had "Welcome to the 05 b*tch" as my screen name on MSN and thought I was so cool. Laaame, ahah.

Ooh, and Phil, I forgot that Arrested Development took place there too! I pick that.

i think that laguna beach was my favorite. with the OC - i got into it for about a season or 2 but then stopped watching and i know that it was a big show - that everyone was really into it - but i just didn't get into it. i love real housewives..but i can't really say that it's my fav....i don't know

i'm wondering though what the real allure of the OC is - and why networks really feel the need to base shows out there. if there's ANOTHER reality show that's going to feature the area - i think that it's going to cheapen it - i don't know. it's not like the county needs to have MORE people move there - it's already reather full and wealthy as is right?

Ah, The OC was the best guilty pleasure tv EVER. With the small exception of the horror that was the 3rd season. Yet, for the clothes and Adam Brody, I remained true and was rewarded with a hilarious and over-the-top 4th season...

Laguna Beach was awesome..having done some time there in my 20's and being an Orange County girl.. I watched it from South Carolina laughing my ass off..

My favorite snotty lil sh*t line was when I think her name Casey went to prom with dramatic eye makeup and one of the girls said OMG.. did you see Casey's makeup..it was so Mission Viejo..yuck! Only a orange county native would get that... I just about died.

Oh, how I love and miss the O.C. in its glory days!!! Seasons 1 and 2 were amazing. After that it went so downhill, but I rewatch those old episodes all the time. I think it's awesome that it created such a phenomenon that people/TV execs are still so obsessed with the location.

    No Arrested Development? For shame.
Tobias: "Michael if I may take off my pants and pull my analrapist stocking over my head, I think George Michael may be suffering from what we in the soft-sciences call "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder", or the "The O.C. Disorder"."
    Michael: "Don't call it that."
