I have rediscovered reading after taking a 2 year break for small children. Boy it is most definitely something i have missed terribly. This would be fun.

3/3. I am plowing away through my reading list and next up is Sedaris. I cannot wait.

Ok, maybe I'm just ignorant, but why not just go to the library? I can request books, they email when it arrived, and I pick it up on my way home from work. Even when I was a kid and lived on a farm, we still had the bookmobile, and we could just go 2-3 miles into town and get a book.

I need this....since the local library wants $60 for a library card since I am an out-of-state student and not a permanent resident:(

I prefer the library or an local secondhand book shop over paying to have someone mail books to me. You can usually find inexpensive, good quality books online through Amazon, alibris, etc.

I do not understand BookSwim. I can go to the library and get all the books I want for free. Even if it's checked out, unless it's a major bestseller I can get any book ordered for me from another branch.

That said, I AM curious about this membership.

I can't believe I missed the Sedaris question-- he is one of my favorite authors...but I thought he was classified under "fiction".
