Sunday's 50th annual Grammy Awards were packed with powerful performances — including Kanye West's tribute to his mother and Beyonce's duet with Tina Turner — and musical luminaries from both the past and the present. But awards-wise, the night belonged to Amy Winehouse. Winehouse, who performed via satellite from London after being denied a visa, won five of the six awards she was nominated for, including Best New Artist and both Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "Rehab."

West also had a big night, picking up four awards including Best Rap Album and performing both a stirring tribute to his mother and a glow-in-the-dark rendition of "Stronger" featuring Daft Punk's first TV appearance ever. But one of the biggest surprises came in the Album of the Year category, where both West and Winehouse were beaten by 11-time Grammy winner Herbie Hancock and his album River: The Joni Letters.

You can see a full list of honorees over here, but to see the major winners, read more.

Amy Winehouse's expression when she won Record of the Year made me cry a wee bit. Her appearance made her look so human.

amy made me teary, too! it was so neat - really refreshing - to see such a reaction to an award. it was so good to hear her gratitude to her parents; that makes me think she is taking to rehab more than i originally thought - she isn't resenting them!

I agree. I love her voice but not her personally. Watching her react...I suddenly loved her. She looked like a little girl being pround and thankfull at the same time. Loved it.

I'm not necessarily a huge fan of her music but tonight was triumphant for her. She looked great and had a wicked sense of humor. Hopefuilly with all these wins, she will see it's better to stay sober.

i missed her win but i saw her performance- i thought she looked much better than she has looked recently and even not quite so thin as she was- and i liked the slight smirk during when she sang rehab lol she realized the irony

Wow... Beyonce's a big disappointment this year, I hope she'll try to take more than 2 weeks to make an album next time and loose some of the diva attitude.
